Tai Ping, the manufacturer of exclusive custom handmade rugs for the luxury market, celebrated the link between modern forms and centuries-old craft in a partnership with Khalid Shafar at Design Days Dubai.
Khalid has always been fascinated with local Emirati crafting and how it translates into beautiful, decorative pieces of wearable art. So his proposal for Tai Ping was to design and hand make three limited edition rugs inspired by the shape of Talli – the traditional embroidery that has long adorned the cuffs and collars of women’s clothing in the Middle East.
Each design of Khalid’s trio of handmade rugs features vibrant colours, vivid patterns, and intricate detail as well as the top quality materials that make Tai Ping an industry leader in luxury products.
