Octa Side Collection
DECOHAUS is the theme of a collection inspired by Art Deco and Bauhaus, the two international design movements that overlapped during the 20’s. All of this collection’s designs have been locally reinterpreted using traditional UAE materials (such as camel leather) and the octagon, a shape often found in Middle Eastern and Islamic design and patterns. Each piece has been named after this key shape of the octagon.
OCTA SIDE I
Object: Side table, 2013, prototype
Description: Marble, treated metal & leather | Dimensions: S: 50 x 50 x 44cm / L: 50 x 50 x 76cm
Simple, practical and functional, these side tables are versatile in use and position. Following the same octagon shape and having the same rough metal legs, these tables come in different heights to extend functionality – from a side table for seating to a bed set. Also, a combination of them can replace a coffee table in any setting.
OCTA SIDE II

Description: Marble, treated metal & leather | Dimensions: 50 x 50 x 64cm
Following the same basic structure of OCTA SIDE I this table introduces a softer yet bolder handcrafted element. A completely handcrafted drawer made fully of camel leather is suspended from its marble top. The drawer provides a convenient space for storage along with an organization tray for smaller items. OCTA SIDE II makes a perfect bedside table.
OCTA SIDE III

Another version of the OCTA SIDE table but with the new twist of a storage compartment. A completely handmade sack of camel leather – reminiscent of those used in the old days to carry things on camels during long journeys in the Arabian Desert.
